WEST OXFORDSHIRE RIDING CLUB

NEWS

Welcome to the all new NEWS page! See below for all the latest news regarding you're riding club. From team achievements to individual updates and other general exciting information.

Dear Friends,

Thank you very much for your gift to help horses

Thank you so much for your generous donation of £300.00

These funds will help us to care for over 1,500 horsey residents who have been rescued from neglect, abandonment, abuse or poor circumstances.

With so many in our direct care, we have a lot of mouths to feed. Your donation will make a real difference, helping us to provide them with the food, veterinary care and all the other things that horses need to stay happy and healthy.

It will also help us reach even more horses, ponies and donkeys who sadly still need our help in the UK.

The UK is in the midst of an equine welfare crisis with an estimated 6,000 horses at risk of being abandoned. Thanks to your support, we are doing everything we can to ease the crisis. From transporting horses to a place of safety, giving them health checks, providing them with emergency veterinary treatment, and of course offering them a home at the Sanctuary whenever we can.

Thank you for being a friend of Redwings and for helping us help horses in need.

Your kind support is very gratefully received by all here at the Sanctuary.

Best Wishes,

Gemma Bridgeman

 VOLUNTEERS WANTED!

We urgently require volunteers from the members to help out at our events. We are severely lacking support from most members to assist at any of the WORC events. This is a reminder that all members are required to help and support for at least 1 event per year. If YOU can spare any more of you time to help us out then please get in contact with any of the committee members who will pass on you're details to the secretary of the event. If we do not get enough volunteers we may end up having to cancel events, which of course we really do not want to have to do.

 Thank-you

On 19th of May West Oxfordshire Riding Club sent a team of four to Rockingham Castle International Horse trials. This was to compete in the riding club show Jumping. The ladies did us proud and each came away with something to contribute to the club.

Serena Rees competed first on the speedy Oakie and with an all clear round and with a great time snapped up a 2nd individual placing to get us off to a great start.

Rhiannon Foreman (JR) set out second (feeling the pressure) never the less she done herself, the club and Petra (her horse) proud after going clear in a decent time, managing to come away with individual 3rd place to keep the club in good stead.

Next up was Bethany Howard who brought along her promising horse Faerweld who had a good round but missing the placings. However, it was Faerweld's first time out at 90cm. So Bethany was proud to get her round the course.

Last to compete was Freya McAleer on Whitney. Needing a very good round and a good time. Freya done just that, coming away with an individual placing of 10th.

These ladies all did the club proud in their own ways and got to stand on the same podium as Piggy French did earlier that day to collect their 3rd YES 3RD TEAM PLACING! OUT OF 40+ teams. Congratulations to everyone involved and thank-you to everyone who came along to support.
